    Does your tank have any corals in it? If not, you can Hypo the entire tank and its inhabitants, not including corals.

    it is 55 gal with 65 lbs of rock. 2.5 inchs of live sand and a 29 gal sump with a more gravely substrate. I have 2 clowns, 3 chromis, royal grammar and purple firefish as well as the flame angel. I have one bulb anenome that i added yesterday before i noticed the "ich". it looks more blotchy and less pin point white now =-(

    25ppm salinity is way too low.You should be at least in the 30-35ppm range. This could be stressing him out.:cry: I would bring it up slowly.

    yea it's 35 tom, if none of the other fish are showing ich I would leave the salinity where it is for awhile the reason is the higher the salt is, the more the crypt can muliply. It loves salt. it also likes colder water. Try to keep the temp around 80 if you can control the temp. go no higher. feed the fish all he will eat to keep his strength, hippos are very prone to ich. please let us know if any more outbreaks. James

    Welp, if you didn't have the Anemone in there, you could Hypo the tank. (drop the salinity to .017-.018 range. But, you'll kill the Anemone if you do that.

    A hypo for Ich should be around the 1.009 range. Ich can live in the 1. 017-1.018 range.
