    Reef safe: with caution.
    "known to nip at corals".

That's what most websites say.. What was your experience with a Flame Angel?
Nip at corals- does it eat softies? Completely destroy any particular coral?

I guess in a way i'm looking for someone to tell me theirs didn't hurt corals since I really would like to have one, but... I am a realist and know that may not be my case...so just looking for others experiences. Might try one out anyway some day.

I've read they are more-so partial to softies...

Had 2 - one didn't go near any coral at all but wound up getting sick and dying (ich breakout a few years ago). The other I had used to pick at the brain coral and xenia but it took a few months before I noticed it. Eventually sold him back to my LFS for that reason.

I had two flame angels and neither one bothered my corals. Of all the angels, the dwarf angels are the most reef safe. However, there are exceptions as you have pointed out. Also, if you get a FA and it is a good boy, it can change down the road. There is never a guarantee that they will remain reef safe. Are they worth a try? IMO absolutely yes. Many of the fish that we put in our reef systems have the propensity to do some damage. It is just the chance we take. My vote is to go for it and see what happens.

Yeah, I think I'll get one. Some people in the local club here told me theirs never bothers anything.. .like you guys say though it's an individual thing that can probably change.

I would also like one but I was told only if I put the corals in after him. If I try I might not be able to get him out if he does bother the corals. I just added a Bicolor Blenny to the clown pair and mandarin
