Post your opinion on the Flame Hawk in the reef environment besides look out for the shrimp. I picked one up and acclimating him now. Time to start taking chances.

Hey good luck with it if its young enough you may be O.K for a while but when it hits about 3" look out the problem I see most have if they will set on their corals It is a total carnivore with a diet preference for small crustaceans, some sessile as well as motile invertebrates. I have seen them and have gad them It will eat feather dusters and any type shrimp a watch out for your hermitsand snails also somtines they will pick and eat them suck the snails right out of their shells! And if there is a smaller enough fish in there again watch it Even though fish are not a chosen daily food source, they may try and eat smaller fish if they get the chance. And they can also be very picky eaters and not apy any attention to flakes or frozen they like Live stuff . I do like them but I'd rather someone else have them in their tanks and I'll look at them and not in my tank

Thanks Tangster for the heads up. I am just tired of the same old same old. The one I picked up is eating like a hog and guess he will have fun with some of my hermits and snail what few I have in there. Interesting creatures they are.

Ive had mine for about four months with no prob. He eats flakes and freeze dried krill and mysis. Don't have any prob with the shrimp I did catch him eyeing a flipped snail one time but I caught it in time. Mine is about 2.5" now so we will see how he does when he gets a little bigger

I think like any other fish theres always the chance, but i also feel if you keep him well fed he will not have any reason to destory anything in the tank.

I really like all of mine very cool little fish Mine would like to perch on my cleaning magnets and look at me when I came close tot e tank , No I'm not saying they are not a cool fish But I as I said I have had more then a few of them and I have has several to not adapt or do well most did how ever.. Just offering some real time experiences with them that you may or may not find around the boards with them.

And again none of mine showed any signs of bad habits until they reached about 3" in size I guess thats about mature ? Thats when i got them out FYI you may want to get a fish trap to have on hand ? Just in case ...
