i bought an electric flame the other day. i've been reading a lot about them lately because the lfs forgot to mention that they usually die quickly. from what i'm reading they are really picky eaters and are always hungry. i'm going to try and keep him alive as long as possible but i know this time next year is a stretch. it sucks that its basically going to starve but it is a very interesting thing to have in your tank to look at while you can

Get some live phyto (DT phyto or Reef natural). Then just feed that to them. If you dont put anything in there they for sure will starve

i'm definitely going to feed it. i'm not going to just leave it. i've already been giving it daily shots of phyto. i was reading that they will sometimes eat zooplankton too so i'm going to give that a try also

I have had mine about 5 months now and he seem's to be doing well....Legend has it they last about 6 month's, I have read here where a fellow reefer kept one for over two year's....I feed live Phyto (3 cultures) daily so I think that might be the ticket....Mine hid in the back uder a rock for the first three month's and finally moved to the front where I can see him. He has just opened back up from eating. They look cool but are not a very active pet...Good Luck....

I see these is abundance when ever I go snorkeling here in Trinidad. I always wanted one but never got one. If I can trace back correctly in my head, we kept some in the LFS where I work and I think I can remember target feeding it raw shrimp and they all survived until they were purchased.
However, this past weekend on my coral buying spree, the guy threw in a free one because I bought 3K worth of coral and fish. It was attached to a carpet nem (that's why he threw it in free) next morning I woke up to find only the shell, I don't know if it died and the CUC ate it or if the carpet ate it but after reading this, I'm not that interested in owning another one;)
