i purchased a flame scallop today. i have heard that they are hard to keep alive but i thought i would try anyway. just a few minutes ago i noticed that it has a small white crab inside it. the scallop is open and appears to me to be healthy but i dont have any experience with them. any body have any ideas if this crab is a good or bad thing? if it is bad how do i get rid of it? thanks a lot

If the scallop opens and appears healthy, I would assume that the crab has a symbiotic relationship with the scallop. I wouldn't worry. But research, google it!

I have never witnessed anything like this with my electric flame scallop. I would also warn you, NEVER BUY A FLAME SCALLOP AGAIN! They are harvested and then they almost always die. No one can succesfully keep them alive for more then like 6 months, it is unknown what they eat. I fed mine Marine SNow and that seemed to do nothing.
