i just bought my male flame wrasse a girl friend. she is so pretty, and seems to fit right in. all though today the chomis chased her. but she swims right back to the male flame wrasse, all though he doesnt seem to be fazed by her :( not sure whats with that. i hope they pair. she does hang around him more and more each day.
Any way i received the free shipping from bluezooaquatics and was really surprised that they paid for morning delivery. she arrived before 10:30 as the tracking said. this is rare for a company to do. and shows how much care they put into your new pet getting to you safely.

Congrats on the new add, Hopefully the velvet and flames dont spar to much in that size of a tank. My Velvet and Flame Go at it occasionally and they are in a 120 LOL.

    Best of wishes!

Normally you won't see the interaction until just before lights go out. That's when all the flashing and chasing goes on. It's a really awesome thing to watch, as the male flares and flashes the pinks and orange. Unfortunately for myself, my female, is starting to show male tendencies...and they are beginning to fight.

I have the same experience with BlueZoo. I ordered enough to receive free S&H and they sent it priority...arrived a little late, but that's FedEx for you. How I loathe FedEx. But I was very impressed with BlueZoo. Packing was the best I've seen...and the care given was great. Top notch company.

It happens sometimes. It can be too large of a tank, or they just don't pair up as you'd expect.

My pair did this for a little while, with the female looking like a transitional male. There was a little bit of fighting too, but nothing all that serious. Now it seems she's gone back to female and all is well again. It's beyond me, and just goes to show you never know what might happen to our animal's "natural" behavior in our glass boxes.

Its a 40x28x22 tank, roughly 110G, and yes they interacted a lot. I actually had three at one time, but one female jumped and got gill netted by my 1/2" screen, so I went to 1/4" screen.

They have been playing for well over a year, before this change happened. I first noticed it when I saw one flashing, and thought, wow, the male looks smaller. Then all of a sudden, the big male came out, and kind of cowered to the little on. Now they both flash at each other, but I can already see the male, is cowering, and will let the female/male dominate. I may get rid of these two fish, and buy three females together, and let one morph into a male.

Lol, except the QT and medication part. Blue zoo has a bit of work to do on that.

sorry about the one female. poor fish :( glad you brought that up though,i went with the 1/4 netting to cover my tank. i would have never thought the 1/2 inch would have been a problem. its important info for people to know.

im sure you wont have a problem finding new homes for the males if thats what you decide to do, its often hard to part with fish though.

3 females is how my anthias arrived, i watched the one turn into the male. i have noticed they now seem more bonded than when they first arrived, they play together. this has just started and is really sweet to watch
