ehhh for the return it's great. there's a nozzle that i have seen people use on a cls and it sticks about 1 inch in the tank and you can move it in any direction. it's on like a ball joint. it's really cool.

I don't even count the return as part of my flow so anything you put on there would be "6 in one hand and half dozen the other'

yeah i know i'm overthinking it a bit i was just wondering if anyone had any input i hadn't thought about,i think i'm just going to get the flared for a broader flow pattern,so 4 flared returns and 2 vortechs.

I have the flared on my returns, I aim them to intersect the flow of the koralias to create turbulence in the flow patterns down the length of the tank. They are also great if you aim them at the surface to break up the surface tension and increase gas exchange.

You need a catagory for BOTH. I use the flared where I don't want the velocity and the round when I do want the velocity or movement. I actually have both in my present 100G,,, flared on the sump returns and round on my closed loop.

i think you can count them depending on the return pump. My return pump does over 5gph so i count mine. educators is what d is talking about i believe
