    Hiya!

I have noticed i have some flat worms in my refugium. I assume another hitchhiker from the macro algae! really wishing i dipped it before i put in the the tank!

Should i be worried that they could invade the main display?
I do have a yellow tail damsel in the main display so im not sure if she would help!

    Any opinoins are appreciated!

I've had flatworms in my fuge that never made it into the display tank but I can't say for sure if that would be the case for everyone. Just keep a close eye on your display and if you see them pop up, start taking measures. I don't think that your damsel would eat them.

If I knew for sure I had one I'd hit the tank asap saying I have a Flatworm is to me like saying someone is a little bit pregnant . It will grow . Flatworm exits it totally safe ad effective and if you just kill a few hundred then there is no problem waiting until they number in the millions then thats the tank killer when you deal with them. But thats me :) I want nothing in my tank that I did not put in there.

    Thanks both for the input!
I think your right roger - i should hit the tank now while they are at a bare minimum. I only saw 2 to be fair andi have sucked them out! If i see one more - i shall buy some flat worm exit asap!

In the same boat phoenix. I sucked a few flatworms off my goni last week. That's all I saw. But there's gotta be more that I don't see, and they will multiply.

If you saw two then you have more ): I told my son in law that very same thing once he procrastinated to long the tank had millions of them in a few months Amcarrig saw them while we where in Va. a few yrs ago it /they move fast. I see a red bug I treat the systems I see anything find a way to kill it off asap. We had some issues with a coral from a Local shop red bugs and damn if she had not had a micro lens on we would have never seen them , Got some heartworm pills sent up and poof all gone hit it twice maybe 3 times to be sure ? been awhile since that happened

My Daughter and her husband tried every wrasse that was supposed to rid the tank of them ? Never worked he They just got larger in their numbers . he tried every natural supposedly predator of them he could find . And by time he conceded it was to late for the flatworm exit . I mean it matters not to myself how anyone handles any problems But I have never seen a natural prediator in a community tank eat what they are supposed to , They really don't have to to much easier food floating around .

Just been giving the refugium the once over - and yep - there are more then 2 in there! Guess i'll be buying the flatworm exit then!!
Im sure as there are only a few in the tank, that i won't have to bother with syphoning dead ones out! So i best be quick before a few turn into loads! :(

Yes thats what I was figuring when you said you had one ): I never ever in all my yrs in this hobby ever saw a single one of anything that was bad , Unfortunately to bad that never applies to the good stuff .
I have at some point have either experienced the problem or helped someone rid themselves of a problem and I just draw from the experiences . But you run Carbon 24/7 anyways or if not then you might want to consider it ? Or just run it at least while treating the system to collect what little toxins the few you have may release as they die off .
Or you can try the natural predator methoed ? I never had much luck with it as not anyone I know of , But since many are scared to death to add anything to their systems with out a ton of data that may be an option to try ? I have never encountered a problem with the use of flatworm exit or anyone else I have treated the systems for .
