I am having a terrible tank week lol. today i found a couple flat worms and i think ive IDed them as red planaria via Melevs reef ID, they are kind of reddish orange color...i only found a few, 20 at the most and i sucked them all out, but i know what i see is nothing compared to what i do not see, and i could never get rid of them all that way. Soooo what is the best way to get rid of them? i read about flatworm exit and read good reviews but i would like some 1st hand experience before trying it. i also read that sixline and leopard wrasses will eat them but has anyone had any success with that as well? I searched high and low and they only seem to be on one rock...for now...so i would like to get rid of them ASAP before they become an infestation. Also the one rock they are on i would rather not take out...its huge (see pic, that snail is about half of my fist so thats a big freaking rock haha) and idk how well you can tell from the other pics but those are a few i sucked out. THanks everyone once again;D

Flatworm exit works great. Wrasses are not a bad method to prevent them coming back in the future, but they won't usually get to them all.

I wouldnt worry about them IMO. "Leave it alone" is my prefered method. I have tons of different types of worms in my tank especially in my sump. I once found a bristle worm over 6 inches long. I put him back in. I have no infestation and no problems with my corals or my fish.

I've been trying to get rid of flatworms in my 20L for a bit now. I've used a whole bottle and had no real luck. I just ordered a new bottle and I'm going to be putting all my LR in a spare 10g and doing a couple heavy doses a couple days apart. I may even go barebottom when the rock goes back in the 20L, if not I will be changing out the sandbed for sure.

They really aren't doing any harm I just hate seeing them in the tank. Mine are a very small brown variety that like to hang out on the glass...drives me nuts!

I really dont ever see many in my DT. My sump is loaded though. Might be because my fat Mandarin is eating them. If I see one in my DT it is only at night after the lights have gone out. I might see one on the glass then.

there are natural predators that will eat'em. And as for not worrying about them, sooner or later they will begin crowing over corals. Flatworm exit works great, as well as combining that with a natural killer.

A good sixline can be feisty in the sense they cruise around slot picking at things they can be jumpers and they are reef safe so no worries with them really.

You need to dose some Levamisole HCl. It takes out the red planarias

IME Sixlines aren't feisty. They are nasty. They can become quite aggressive. Especially with any fish added after them. What size is the tank?
