when it comes to mandarins, as well as wrasse it is sometime hit or miss on weather or not they will eat them. I would have rather gone the fish route due to the fact that they will eat regular food after the FW's are gone, but the nudi was a for sure bet on eating the FW's . So when the nudi has completed the job it will got to another reefer that may need the same help as I did.

If you give away the nudi won't the flatworms come back a month or two down the road? I would treat with FWE after the nudi does it's job, just to be sure. The only thing I had an issue with when using FWE, it seemed to effect my neccarius snails. Other than that, I'm now flatworm free.

there is always that possibility, but the same is true for FWE. He is keeping them in a very controlled state right now, so I am watching to see if he stays looking healthy with the number of FW's becoming smaller. If I feel he isn't getting the food needed then it would be irresponsible to just let him die, especially if another reefer could use him.

And if you have a sump, you can omit the jug, and put the mesh at the end of the tubing and stick the end in the sump. Then it's like a continuous siphon.

    Good advice.

The numbers now are so low that they are hardly even noticeable, but I will keep you suggestion in mind if things go back to how they were.

    thanks

Stepping up maintenance will fix the issue if you keep at it long enough and effectively enough.

Just throwing it back at you that some mandarins have been known to eat them, especially the spotted ones. But finding one that will eat them is hit of miss just like finding a six line that will.

I myself have had good luck with flatworm Exit, never had any issues using it but you have to remember that it kills the adults and the newly hatched one but it will not kill the eggs. To completely eradicate them you have to dose it every couple of weeks to kill any that hatch from the eggs. It took me about a month total to get completely rid of them.
