    Alright! time for an update!
Finally got my mp40 to lessen its vibration and noise! It was UBER loud before. can still hear it a bit but its a lot better. Since this tank was used, I was just gonna let it cycle a bit for now and I am going to..."cycle" it with a new method I came up with =D I decided to just sprinkle some brine shrimp eggs into the aquarium and let them just grow and do their thing. So far, it seems to be doing pretty good. I have a lot of these little buggers swimming around. And also when I start filling it up with my current livestock, they will have tons of live brine to feast on.

Recently, I noticed that my the water level seemed a bit unleveled...by maybe half an inch? So! I drained it (this was before my adding of the brine shrimp) and took out most of the rocks...and put some shims under the stand to try to get it evened. For some reason, the tank just cannot even out. SO I went back to look up on what to do next and found out that half an inch should be alright as long as its on a even surface that wont "tilt" the aquarium in such a way that it will twist and break. SO I started filling it back up putting the rocks in etc....UNTIL my sister's bf decided to put an OILY "drill pump" in one of the buckets of water I saved from the tank to show me how cool it was. sigh...had to dump the water out fearing that it might end up killing all my lifestock later, and I am now waiting on the Ro/DI which is SOO slow to fill up my buckets..............

    What a day!

Hmm My vortech is still having a bit of noise issue. How loud should the pump be?

id be a little worried if the tank wasnt perfectly level. and asthetically , lopsided water doesnt look good. you should try and get it level 1st. id keep fiddling with it until it was. what type of surface is it sitting on? rug, wood, concrete? i dont think brine eggs with help with a cycle. throw in a raw shrimp aand let it cook in there. pods and bacteria wil have something to feast on, and will get that cycle going. just my opinions flazky. best of luck getting this baby going.

This tank is sitting on carpet which is sitting on a thin piece of foam which is sitting on concrete. Yes! I am also concerned with the tank breaking! The only Problem is that Everyone (older than me and "knows" more) say that it should be fine! I personally do not agree but I tried putting shims in and it just wont level. I honestly have no clue why. Everytime I put a shim in, the higher side becomes lower and the lower side becomes even more lower! At first I was just going to remove all the carpet but no one wanted to help me move the tank..."sigh" so everything was just filled and rocks have been placed back in. I honestly really dont want to bother anymore taking it apart and putting it back together again. Aesthetically, it looks fine since I will be making waves with my vortechs =D.

almost sounds like a recipe for possible disaster that you dont want to bother. IMO, youve gotta makes things right from the start. or there will be problems down the road. thats one of the keys to this hobby, do it the right way from the start. dont cut corners, dont rush things. makes for a lot more work, and a lot more heartache. not worth it really.
