Oh, was also wondering if anybody knows if I can put a light fixture...lets say..a aquatic life hqi...under the canopy, or do I have to get one of those retrofit lightings?

okay cool I am finally done my exams and I sucked it up and took the tank down to level it. Refilled the tank and I rescaped the rock. I also got a good deal on some sand from a local reefer who took down his tank =D. Got everything in *actually have an extra bag of sand left and I dont know what to do with it...*. Now I am just waiting for the tank to clear up!

Time for some questions that I have!

    1) I had water in the tank for about a month now but I just recently put roughly 100lbs of sand in it. How long will it take roughly for the sand to cycle
    ?

    2) What kind of lighting do you guys recommend? How should I mount it under the canopy?

    3) Canopy or no Canopy? I am debating on whether I should just sell the canopy.

Pics will come soon! Since it was just filled with sand, I didnt see the point of getting pictures =(

Hey ya' .. congrats on the new tank!!! I would make sure that it is leveled before starting the project. Also, IMO it is better to have a tank without a canopy for more oxygen circulation. But many have a canopy, so just a matter of taste.
Very happy for you though and can't wait to see it develop!!
