I sat my dogs down and had a heart to heart - I explained that if they brought home so much as one flea they were out on thier ears .... so far they have listened. :)

    I like Sentinel too.

anyways, they arent my dogs not my ressponsibility but yes, they are taking appropriate measures for their health and itchiness haha. Little chiwawas are crazy, theres 2 of them and they are little dirt balls haha. Would painters tape cause any problems on acrylic? Is there any issue with the tank being covered up for close to a day?

Use Advantix K9 plus,it's not a quick fix,but it breaks the fleas life cycle, also daily vacuuming helps as well.I had a bad infestation this spring and refused to bomb due to 3 tanks running. They was gone in a couple weeks.

The tape is fine - I mentioned painters tape because it will not cause you problems and is easily removed with no residue.

covering the tank for close to a full day should be fine. I have sealed mine for 24 hours when doing the floor. You will be prohibiting oxygen exchange but for the day you should be fine - at least this has been my experiance.

Covering with plastic and taping is the best advice but you'll need to oxygenate the water with air from an outside source. ie an air pump outside the house with airline into the sump.

May I quote Harry Potter? “Brilliant, bloody brilliant” I love this idea – sounds like a pain in the back side but certainly solves a problem….I like it !

With all due respect, but thats why i used advantix instead of bombs, the bombs only kill the live fleas, you'll still have another hatching of eggs in 2 weeks requiring a second bombing.

Cover all tanks with plastic and seal. Be careful pumping air into the tanks, the area around the air hose must be sealed also. Remember you will be pumping air into a closed environment increasing the air pressure inside. You don't want the increased air pressure to blow the plastic covering off of the tank.

JUST HAD THIS HAPPEN IN OUR HOUSE....IT WAS HORRIBLE. THE FLEAS WERE SO BAD THAT THEY WERE ALL OVER OUR BEDS, FLOORS, ETC. WE TOOK THE DOGS TO GET DIPPED AND THEY WERE INFESTED! THE HOUSE WAS INFESTED!

I TRIED A LOT OF STUFF. FINALLY A FRIEND OF MINE GOT ME SOMETHING FROM THE EXTERMINATOR CALLED PRECOR 2000 PREMISE SPRAY. I SPOKE WITH MY VET AND THEY TOLD ME THAT A LOT OF FLEAS HAVE BECOME RESISTENT TO ADVANTAGE AND THE OTHER ONE....THAT IT WORKED AT THE BEINGING BUT NOW THEY HAVE MUTATED SOMEWHAT IT SEEMS. SO THEY SOLD ME SOMETHING CALLED FIRST SHIELD (AVAIABLE AT VETS) WELL I SPRAYED THIS STUFF ALL OVER THE HOUSE (ONLY STAYS IN THE AIR FOR 2 HOURS) HITTING THE CARPETS, BEDS ETC. TOOK ALL THE BEDDING AND ANYTHING I COULD TO LAUNDRY AND WASHED THEM AND APPLIED THE FIRST SHIELD ON ALL THE ANIMALS. I NOTICED A BIG DECREASE IN NUMBER OF FLEAS IMMEDIATELY. NOW THEY WILL CONTINUE TO COME BACK...AS THE EGGS HATCH, SO I HIT THE HOUSE AGAIN IN A COUPLE WEEKS WITH THE PRECOR. CONTINUED THE FIRST SHIELD. HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE NOT SEEN A FLEA IN A MONHT NOW.

AS FAR AS THE TANKS....TURN OFF ALL YOUR PUMPS! TAPE ANY AND ALL OPENINGS AIR TIGHT WITH PLASTIC AND DUCT TAPE. THE GOOD THING ABOUT PRECOR IS WITHIN 2 HOURS THE AEROSOL IS GONE. I LEFT MY TANKS COVERED FOR 4 HOURS!

NOT SURE IF YOU CAN GET THIS BUT THIS IS WHAT I USED
Get rid of fleas with Precor 2000 Plus Premise / Ultracide Flea SprayAerosols

YOU CAN ALSO GET FRUIT FLY TRAPS IN HARDWARE STORES....MY MOTHER HAD A BAD OUTBREAK AND THIS REALLY CONTROLLED THEM. THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE PLASTIC FRUIT WITH FLUID....HUNDREDS WERE CAUGHT AT MY MOMS HOUSE!

    GOOD LUCK...I FEEL YOUR PAIN!
