    This thing is huge compared to any copepods I've seen in my tank. If it is a copepod, how big can they get?

    It's not a copepod. It's an amphipod. The biggest I've seen are about 1/4 inch I think.

    Okay cool. I knew they were bigger than copepods, just not that big. this one is easily 1/4 inch.

    actually amphipods can reach up to 3 inches long in the ocean.

    Actually, some species can get a lot bigger than 3 inches LOL.
    We have tons of 1/4" ones. They run over, grab a crab pellet, and carry it off!
