I may need to use flexible PVC, typically used for spas, for part of my new build. Does anyone know whether there is any issue with using this with saltwater? Does it leech anything into the water? My gut tells me no, but I want to check.

Nope, it's quite alright to use. Never done it myself for anything other than my BRS reactor, but it's suggested in quite a few places.

I have always been curious when using spa pvc do you use glue and slip fittings or barbed (like tubing)?

Greatest thing in the world! and you glue it into the fittings, its the same diameter as the rigid pipe so it fits right in and seals up tight. The best part about it is you can plumb almost everything without using any 90's or 45's which take away flow. I use it every chance I get.

I was going to try it one time but it always wanted to coil back up the way it was on the roll when I bought it. I never could get it to straighten out. How do you make it stay straight? I would like to use it also but the re-coiling part turned out to be a royal pita.
