Float sensor not in the sump... ideas?

    So i have recently downgraded to a 20 gallon, no sump due to a leak. I am trying to set up my ATO and I don't want to it to accidentally get tripped by a snail crawling on it... I was thinking of making some sort of housing but I was wondering if others had found a good solution to the problem.
