    Hi all -
I just picked one of these kent marine float switches up recently:
Kent Marine » Float Valve | Products

I used to have one years ago and I had a sump bracket mount for it. Thought it came with it but Kent Marine says no.

Seems easy enough to DIY. Just need something that will secure to the side of the sump and a 5/8" hole for the switch.

However - I think there must be something already out there. Any ideas or links?

    Thanks in advance...

I got a funky piece of plastic from autotopoff.com intend for this sort of thing. I used a heat gun to reshape it to my needs.

It's the "Sump Mounting Bracket" on the "misc" page.

I have one that looks just like that, and I use a medium mag float and zip ties. Holds it very securely and makes moving it up and down really easy.

I actually bought some of these Zoo Med MagClip Magnetic Suction Cup and epoxied a piece of Plexiglass that I had drilled to fit the float switch to the inside one. Allot cheaper than using one of my magfloats and you can move it up and down to adjust also.

I did glue a small piece of rubber gasket sheet to the magnet that I epoxied the plexiglass to. I found that after time it slid up just a little bit. But once I put that on the magnet it never moves unless I move it. I got from the local auto parts store.

You could use a thin piece of plexy. Heat and bend to the desired lip size (hangs over the top of the sump) and another at the desired depth. Appearing similar in shape to the letter Z.

    Cool ideas all thanks!
The magnet ideas are really interesting. I may look into that.
If someone knows of a bracket already out there though I am all ears. The autotopoff one still requires DIY. (edit - but is not a bad option)
