    He was on a rotation flake, brine, and cyclops. And he was eating very well until the night before he died. I don't think it was starvation since he refused to eat when presented with food that he had loved up 'till then.

    I wouldn't even worry about checking for stray voltage, just buy a ground probe!!! Well worth $10-$15. As long as you have anything electronic in contact with the water (example: powerhead) chances are there will be stray voltage. I put one in my tank without checking, just one of those "must haves" IMO. The one I bought- Rid-Volt Grounding Probe: Premium Aquatics= only $13.95. Put it in then rule out the possibility all together!
