Floor Model Skimm

    I have a canister filter and so there is no Sump. The tank is a 65 Gallon and it is in the process of setting up. I am pickig up live sand and 50lbs of live rock over the weekend.

    What I was thinking of doing is to have a MaxiJet 1200 in the tank and then have it feed a UV light and then have the output of that feed a Skimmer then go back to the tank- or vise versa...

    1. do you forsee any problems with this config
    2. What Skimmer could I use that support this
    Also it needs to be a reasonably priced unit.. I am quickly learning how fast my money can disapear.

    1. Maxijet 1200 might be too big for UV (check the optimal flow rate of your UV)
    2. It might be difficult to find skimmer based on the pump.

    I suggest to find the right skimmer for your tank and install a T joint and a gate valve at the skimmer output to feed water to the UV.
