It is time for me to make good on a promise I made to my wife about a year ago to replace the flooring in our home. She wants Pergo; good for me... it is much cheaper than solid wood flooring.
I am wondering if it will stand up to the weight of my tank. Can anyone provide first-hand knowledge or credible advise on the subject please?

I am figuring a weight of approximately 1000 lbs for the entire set up.

We have wood laminate flooring under our 180 gallon and it's holding up just fine after 6 months :)

I do not see an issue with that. A full 180 comes in closer to 3500 lbs once filled. Look at it this way. An old perfection tv with cabinet and other stereo stuff will be close 1k in weight as well.

IMO, it isn't the material under the tank, Ie. pergo or Tile or Laminate as much as the location of the tank in your house!!!! You want to make sure the tank is along a wall preferrably close to a corner where the floor joists meet and offers you the strongest support from your foundation to support all that weight!
If you were lucky enough to have a concrete slab in an enclosed porch as I have, you could put almost any amount of weight on it with no detrimental effects!!

i agree with all said above, i have a 40 breeder, with a 20gal. sump, whole setup ways around the 1000lb, and i have it on a second floor, ontop of laminate wood. has been there for over two years perfectly fine!
