Florida checking in! 29g reef build..

For the RODI, Spectrapure has a 90gpd 4stg system for $120 right now. They say they are refurbs, but I've done some checking and several people have said they got what seems to them a brand new unit. Spectrapures are great units, you should definitely check them out.

hey man If i where u i would add a nice little skimmer to that tank just make sure to buy a skimmer that is rated for about twice the size of your tank. just pick out a few skimmer that you like and ask us we will point you in the right direction. A good skimmer makes all diffrence so try not to go cheap when it comes to this if not you will regret it in the long run trust me. Nice job getting the ro unit without that ur tank will become algea hell lol. and as for anything else for you tank later on in a few month you can run np bio pellets or carbon and gfo. Thanks. I had been using distiller water from the supermarket thus far, I know better than to put that nasty tap stuff in my beautiful tank really excited to get the RODI unit though as I've never had one.

I didn't quite design my sump with the skimmer in mind so might be a challenge to fit it in the 10g. Anyone have any suggestions or know any good HOB ones?

 

I got the same RODI and love it! It was my first time buying one too but works exactly like its supposed too, you'll be happy with it

Also, you don't need to have the skimmer inside to sump if theres not room. As long as theres room under the stand you can get one that sits beside the sump.

 

Really? I was always under the impression that you did.. Any recommendation fo an out-of-sump skimmer?

 

reef octo make a few nice hob skimmers and the remora is also a nice hob skimmer

Whats the dimmentions of the first chamber?

 

My used set-up came with a Berlin Red Sea Skimmer. The previous owner had it set up something like this, where the pump is inside the sump bringing water to the skimmer, and the two necks release the water back into the sump

It's 4x9.. Could I fit it in front to back? I know my from-overflow chamber had to be at least 5" wide and the tank is 10" long
