ok guy i was on the web searching for that perfect beach vacation in or around the florida panhandle. almost every year we go to the clearwater area which we absolutely love but this year we want to go somewhere thats a little further north which means less time to get there lol. as i was going through web page after web page i though what better place to look than asking my friends on 3reef. so does anyone know of a beach that is not overloaded with people and still has attractions for kids? i'm looking to go deep sea fishing and do some snorkling. we would like to find that beautiful white beach with the clear blue waters but the only place in the panhandle we have been to was panama city beach and we have been there so many times we just want somethung different. we would be willing to go a little south but really want to keep to the north. what do you guy think? any advice is much appreciated.

its also not TOO terribly far from Cape San Blas, which is where I do most of my snorkling (in the bay side)...but its REMOTE out there in the state park...nothing to do but the beach/camp

I live in Destin, Fl and i have to say that our beaches are the best around. You could also stay in Panama City and go snorkeling at St.Andrew Jetty which is located in panama city in St. Andrew State Park. They have many nice fish such as butterflyfish, blennies, cocoa damsels, atlantic blue tangs, doctorfish tangs, urchins, cucumbers, and they also have tons of gorgonians and other coral there. I highly recommend it.

Snorkel further north than clear water? Imo you are headed the wrong direction for snorkeling. Key west would be ideal, but its a long drive. :)

please excuse wrong words, I posted this from my phone that auto "corrects."
