    Hi

I'm having a hard time with my powerheads starting in reverse, i have 4 koralia evo 1400, some times they start fine, someother they don't and is time for me to get rid of this pumps and get something better.

I want controlled tunze, I don't like vortech, but reading about the subject i have found info i didn't know and is that there is flow and there is water movement.

Flow is what power heads give, flow into the tank, water movement is what wave box do move the whole mass of water.

So what do you prefer and why??

I had the evo 750s and they worked well, if you contact hydor they'll send you new bushings to stop that problem. I recently swapped them for two mp10s. Which I like, but I also liked aiming my hydor to get specific flow in specific spots

That's one of the reason i like tunze over vortech.

I replace the propeller in one pump, and now it is starting in reverse just after a few months, i don't like to wet my hands, so a change must come.

Why dont you like vortech? I dont mind that you dont, id just like to know your reasoning? I have an mp10 and its arguably the best purchase ive ever made for my tank.

Is a great pump, and have all the thing i'll like, but for me have some fatal flaws, one is the sound, i'm really disturb by cycling noises i can hear a drop of water from across the room, so i can stand noise, the other is, they can't moved, and the 2rd one is the have a huge ugly side outside the tank, i don't care about pumps in the tank, but not outside of it, and the service you have to give the pump is just to much for a powerhead.

Are you sure this is a hobby you should be getting into? Getting your hands wet is sort of in the Job description......;D

And to answer your question.....I prefer what you refer to as flow. I would rather my water Mix around, rather then to just ebb and toss back and fourth. Now, I find lots of times that I stand alone in my opinions...lol But I've seen wave makers, and I don't like the way the tank looks IMOPO.

I have the mp10s in my room and i dont notice them unless there on pulse. And id personally rather the pump outside. Less heat and less chance of stray voltage id assume

Yeah, i only hear mine when its pulsing. Can barely hear or notice it over the noise of other stuff going on. (skimmer/sump/overflow)

Jajaja your right, but I prefer to enjoy my tank rather than work on it, a since beginning I set my tank to run almost in cruse control.

My tank is dead silent, the loudest thing in my tank is the air intake of the skimmer and I build a silencer, some reefer friends have ask me if return pump is running.

An none of the vortech my friends have are silent, so I pass on vortech I prefer tunze.
