I am wondering how much flow I need for my tank. It is a 33g with an octopus BH100-F skimmer (225gph) and I currently have a koralia #3 running but I think it is way too much flow. I do not keep and sps corals, only mushrooms, zoas, gsp and a few lps (hammer and frogspawn which don't really appreciate being blown around.). How do you determine how much flow? What do you guys aim for with turnover?

you could probably scale back to a number 2 and be fine.

    Hi Shelle

I keep shrooms, Zoas, LPS and leathers - and to be honest, I struggled to find good locations for them as i "felt" they where being expossed to to much flow

I have 30+ the tanks volume in terms of water movement

but please check out page 8 of Missionsix thread on show of your fish tanks section of this site - thread title six pixs

    page 8 has a video

    watch the video

and maybe, like me you will re think your "feelings" about flow for soft corals

I would not have believed it if I had not seen it

So are you thinking that a #3 koralia is not too much flow? I guess I could leave it, nothing seems to be doing badly and honestly my frogspawn has opened up more than it did before.
