I have a 90 gallon FOWLR set up with a 30 gallon sump/refugium/skimmer, being pushed by an Ehiem 1260, with 2 Korolias and a powerhead in the tank to keep things moving. It seems to do really well, water stays clean, fish are happy, but based on Ehiem's site, the 1260 only moves about 475 GPH, based on my head height of about 53". I hear you should turn the tank between 10-20 times per hour, but a 900-1800 GPH pump seems like overkill. Would I be better of switching to something like a Pondmaster Mag 12 that moves 800 GPH at my head height, or should I leave well enough alone if my Ehiem is working?

    Thanks!

You are probably good. You want to limit the flow through your sump to 3-5x the display volume and make up the rest with powerheads, closed loops or similar things. High velocity or GPH through the sump often leads to microbubbles and other problems.

Which koralias do you have and what type of corals? If going the sps route 30-50 times water volume would be better.
