I'm sure that's totally fine, it will adapt quickly, esp if it's just getting used to everything. Post some pics when you get a chance!

BTW I never fed my gonio anything, I think it must have gotten food out of the water column at times. It was the largest coral in my tank, it would open up to about 6" tall and at least 5-6" wide. Just wanted to add in that it was fine without any phyto (not saying that it wouldn't be good to feed though), just my exp.

will do i have some pics form yesterday my camera sucks so it makes the coral look green like in my avatar, i also just got done cleaning the glass so its all closed up again

just might of figured out why it might not be opening, i remember that the tank that it was in at the lfs had no light, same with the carnation i think the carnation is doing good i dont know how to tell if its not though but ill post more pics later this afternoon :D

sounds good, I forgot to mention my gonio was extremely sensitive to movement around it. It would retract if I was cleaning by it with my magfloat, didn't even touch it but the water disturbance made it cranky. But it was a real stunner when fully out.

Looks great! Mine was a yellowish-green, almost neon flourescent. It's crazy when they shrink back into their little disc skeleton to think all that comes out of this little thing. Good luck with it.
