I was advised by someone to use a flower pot for an anemone... What is the purpose of this? Does it work? Is anyone else using this technique?

I was told to take a flower pot... put some sand and a little bit of live rock in it then put the anemone in.. It is suppose to keep it in place... I guess it worked for this one person. This is a clay flower pot...

Never heard of that. I know fraggers put a frag in a small plastic container with substrate in it so the frag can attach to it. I am leery of the clay pot, use a plastic container maybe.

mabey im wrong but i think hes talking of goniopora which clownfish will often treat like a nem but gonoipora is hard to keep. lol.... flowerpot is kindof the generic name for goniopora. my clown swims in my goniopora more than the nem. it is a nuisance to the coral though. if your talking about a actual flower pot then i have no idea. if you put it in a flowerpot in the tank it could just relocate anyway.

No he had an anemone in a clay flower pot.. LOL Said it kept it in place... Perhaps he was just lucky in the fact the anemone loved the flower pot... ha ha
