    And two months later...

    The new tank actually cam early November. I finally got around to plumbing the last few days as the semester comes to a close.

    Decided to go with a herbie style overflow. Its quiet so far and I hope it stays that way. Filled it with water. Couldn't be happier with it. I need the front door made still.

    I was dealing with some noise issues on the Herbie drain. I had a couple elbows on the drain side...seems they were preventing all the air from purging from the line. Added some spa flex instead. Huge difference.

    All I hear now is the slightest trickle on the outflow. Finally a quiet tank

    Not to sharp shoot or anything because I think you have a great looking tank. My only concern or question is: In one of the plumbing pics, it looks like a metal hose clamp on the return pump. I always thought metal in the water would lead to problems in the long run.

    Agreed. It's a stainless one I had sitting around. I need to grab some of the nylon clips. Thanks for watching out!
