my chiller seems to be running correctly but not cooling the temp. had a technician look at it and was told everything ok and the problem may be clogged coils because i had no filter attached to the pump. he said once i flush the coils, it should operate normally. how do i do that? what do i use? i was told to "back flush" it, which i'm guessing means to reverse the flow of water using vinegar. does this sound right? tank is running @ 86 and i need help pronto!!

i flushed my lines with mixture of vinegar and water. I stuck the pump and the return drain in a bucket of vinegar mixture. I let it run for about 20 minutes. I then dumped that out and ran just RO water for the same period.

Not sure if that is the same process, but I used that when I had a fire in my sump area and left the chiller off for several days without draining it first. Enough of that nasty gas built up in the lines.....

Might not have been a chiller technician

hope nobody minds me interupting the thread for a critique on modern life.

My father when he finished working was a enviromental waste processing technician - he never changes jobs all his working life and he started as a Garbage man

My Mum finsihed work as a young persons dietry technician - again she had only 1 job that she never changed for all 10 years of her working life and she started the job as a dinner lady

fancy titles dont always point to qualifications IME
