I was hoping to do a water change & setup a little different filtering process... well I read the directions( second time), & it says in the directions uploadfromtaptalk1358012148630.jpg
Im concerned with the the asterisk under the dosing part... I have a 55 gallon DT & @ least 30 gallon fuge/sump/ skimmer...
I was going to use 2 bags... NOW IM WORRIED...

    Hey saltydogg

did some research for you, around the web
it seems Hagen suggest using this product in a Fish only salt water set up

There does not seem to be any clear information about what is in the product
its generally thought to be GFO (granular ferric oxide) which does remove phosphates
but there are a few posts in various places, indicating that people who have used it in a reef set up have noted problems with some of their corals

this may be due to speed at which the Phosphate was removed, in that even changes that are beneficial to water quality, if they occur to quickly corals can be shocked by this rapid change

so I would certainly not suggest doubling up on the suggested amounts, and would probably not use it at all in a reef set up with corals, due to fact there is no clear information as to its contents

if you have a Phosphate issue, my suggestion would be to use some GFO such as Rowaphos, or Phosban, or even the BRS bulk product
these can all be used in mesh pouches within the cannister filter and changed when needed

start using half the suggested dosage, and allow the Phosphate to reduce slowly so as not to shock any of the inhabitants

    Steve

Thank you Steve... I found a little bit of that same thing with my research.:)
I don't know that it really wud have been doubling up on it & phosphate is not extremely bad... directions says 1 bag per 27 gallons so 2 bags treats 54 gallons... my DT is 55 gallons & my trio box... (that's what I call it) (sump/fuge/skimmer all in 1 box)
    Thank you for your help..
