I recently got the Fluval Spec V and I am looking for a reef capable lighting upgrade. A google/3reef search of the topic offers a lot of reading, but no solutions that really satisfy me.

I like the sleek look of the stock fixture, but obviously the light output isn't ideal. A hanging fixture isn't really an option, and I'm not a huge fan of the pendant style. I've thought about adding the Ecoxotic stunner strips to the existing fixture, but I fear that it would look obvious and sloppy. Of course the look of the coral is critical to the cool factor of the tank, but the seamless appearance of the equipment is equally important to me for this project.

DIY is not really an option due as much to my lack of knowledge as my lack of time.

I wish Fluval would just make an optional reef capable fixture for this tank, but in the meantime I am hoping the infinite collective wisdom of 3reef can help me out with this one!

The tank is 19.5" long total, but only 17" is needed to cover the main portion of the tank.
