Flying with Fish and Coral

I was pondering the Idea of going to the Carolina Expo and frag swap in September, but did not want to do the 7 hour drive. If I did go and picked up some fish and corals (mostly for the corals) is it possible to fly with them. I would think it would be a no go for fish, but would the coral be ok. And do you guys know of any stipulation with the airlines like they need to be checked (a concern because of the temp and pressure)?

 

alot of frags can fit in a 3 ounce bag of water, heck alot of corals are ok wrapped in a wet paper towel. TSA has regulations to allow LIVE fish to be transported in a clear bag. The idea if the fish is active then the substance is not a bomb. I haven't been able to find that regulation, but getting in contact with hte TSA head offical at your departure airport can help you schedual time in which you meet and shoot through alot of the crap.

 

Thanks, I will probably end up talking to TSA, but wanted to see if others had any personal experience.

 

I'd call them right away, kinda gives you a chance to know where you stand
