Well, I snatched up some barely used equipment. I bought 3 Kessil A360's and Goosenecks to add to my lighting. I will be adding an additional A360 to complete my setup. I will be running 2x250W Radiums, 4x54W ATI Blue Plus, and 4x??W Kessil A360's, just actinic's. I'll measure the wattage used per Kessil at 100% blue, 0% white. I built a light rack to house all of this, but have hanging kits on order so I cannot hang it until that arrives. I'm thinking with this setup, I SHOULD have enough light that I can stick with 250's instead of 400's. PAR measurement will tell the story.

    Update!

I have had a few days away from work and started some woodworking around the tank. Here it most of the face frame built, and clamped in place. I had to separate the top and the bottom as they would not fit through my door.

I will be finishing this in a cream color, wetsanded with 1000 grit to a nice polish. After that week-long task, I'll rub the whole thing down with a bronze glaze so it should (in theory) fill in all the nooks with a nice dark accent. Excess will be wiped clean.

Also, sad news. Found my Rhomboid baking in between my screen top and my overflow cover. He's been with me from the beginning (this house at least)! 4 good years...he was so happy now that I was feeding the LRS foods! So a lesson to all you stubborn wrasse keepers...cover your tank with a screen! All WILL jump eventually. Bad luck on our end with him landing atop the overflow and getting trapped. :(

Dang that Wrasse, I am actually surprised it did not jump sooner. Sorry.

Yeah I read about your square peg in round hole somewhere else and I got to tell ya, now that is for sure something I would do, no doubt about it. Kind of like building a boat in a basement. :p

So glad you were able to solve the issue without too much trouble.

The scape is the bomb, and the framing is just beautiful. Great work.

Why thank you Cheryl. Yeah that dang Rhomboid! Just the fact that he landed in literally the one place that he couldn't fall back into the water is the story of my reef-life! Less than 1/2" of space between the screen tops and the overflow. Just frustrating...and I feel worse for my wife. It is her only fish that she adores.

sorry to hear about the loss :( I agree with whisky - beautiful work on the cabinet! I'm excited to see it with the stain you described - it sounds like it will be stunning!

    Thank you.

Thanks. It will be a while, I fear, until it is finished.

It really looks and sounds like it will be awesome! When you get that finish on there, make sure a put a close up picture on here, I am interested in how it will look.
