It needs to be fed an angel specific diet that is rich in marine sponges.

I feed my Emperor and Blueface angels 1mm NLS and nori/algae sheets with garlic. They also eat a mixture of seafood soaked in Selcon, usually three of the following: fish, scallops, shrimp, clams and squid.

Do you buy all your seafood from the market and make your own frozen mixture?

+1 and when it is younger it should have more algae in the mix, and as it gets older more sponge.

soaking food makes the delivery a little different....selco was designed for gut-loading but I guess it still helps to soak. you will get the best results from it if you are gut loading the brine.

Yep. I usually buy small packets of seafood, then partially thaw them and cut them into pieces under 1/4". It's a lot harder to cut it up if you let it thaw all the way. Also, I don't let it sit out as I cut it. I'll do a little, then put it into a bowl in the freezer so it doesn't get too warm. After it's all cut, I gently mix it together with some Selcon. Then it gets transferred to one quart freezer bags and squished so that it's no more than one piece of meat thick, then freeze the bags flat. I usually do two to four bags at a time.

When it's time to feed, I just break a piece off and let it sit on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes, and dice it up a little more while it's still partially frozen. Five more minutes of sitting and it should be completely thawed, then I turn the powerheads off and toss it in.

It's really not hard at all. As long as you cut it partially thawed, and freeze it in a thin layer it's a breeze. Hope that helps.
