I have been watching my very small 1" Cherub angel eat for the weekt hat i have had him. I have noticed the food that i feed is too large for his tiny mouth.

I feed all frozen, mysis, angel blend, brine with spurlina, ocean nutrition frozen and i think that's about it.

I let the food sit out and thaw, and when i go to feed the angel has a very hard time to eat, he tries to go for everything but he cant fit it in his mouth, he'll try to eat it, spit it back out, eat it again and spit it back out then give up, so it's like he's unable to break the food down. He does manage to get a little bit of the tiny tiny pieces but i dont think he's getting enough to eat, and i feed 3 times a day.

Is their any kind of food that i can find, like say at Petco or Petsmart that would be small enough for the angel to eat?

Can't you cut the food down to smaller pieces? Try Marine Pellets if frozen food won't work :)

Try flake food, and break it up into small pieces. My angel LOVES Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 flakes. Get a "squirter" to squirt the flakes near him. But he should be able to eat the shrimp, the spitting it out thing seems like he doesn't like the taste. My tiny clown goby can eat shrimp fine.

this is with cutting into small pieces. The process of my feeding goes, cut the cubes into a small piece, let it thaw out, once thawed smash it up with my fingers to make it even smaller. Ill have to try to find the pellets.

ive got formula 1 flakes, havent tried flakes with him yet ill try your idea. Ive noticed he'll try the larger pieces of shrimp or whatever else he's trying then their are the tiniest of pieces that float by and he eats those just fine, the larger pieces are like double the size of his mouth, and the smaller are smaller

Maybe for the angel formula and the rest of the food keep it frozen and put it in a feeding grid so he can peck it off.

Get formula 2, those are omnivore flakes so they contain the algae and things the angel needs in its diet.

I think Hikari also makes a frozen food for angels. I'm still trying to find some!

The Hikari angel formula (frozen) looks like small pellets after it thaws, might be small enough for him.All of my fish like it.You could use a little cyclopeze also,I feed my tank with the freeze dried once in a while and it causes a feeding frenzy.

i think my other fish would go after it, if done that with my seaweed for the angel, and my puffer hogs it all pretty much 24/7

i know they carry the hikari bloodworms so ill see if they have the angel formula. Ive heard cyclopeze is a good product, will try to find some next time at the LFS
