    want kind of sand should i use? all live sand or dead sand?

    i used live sand for my 150 and 29g.. although "dead" sand is much cheaper.

    will it matter as far as the cycleing goes?

    Use the majority dead sand then add a few scoops of live sand to seed it. It will all be live sand in no time for a fraction of the price. You could probably even go to your LFS and just get a couple scoops from one of their tanks as opposed to buying a 30 dollar bag.

    well i have a 30g that is set up but it is going to the 50g so i think i will get 60ld of dead and put the live sand from the 30g in it. Will that work?

    If it's clean base rock it won't affect anything.
