my pvc setup is wrong as it is anyways. ill order my gate valve and get the other things i need to set it up better. i didnt use any unions my first time around.. fail.

threw in another Mj1200 into the tank to add flow for awhile while i fix the pvc, silicone in the bulkheads, cleanup and fix the sump baffles. *sigh* meanwhile i have thrown the chaeto into the display tank and the skimmer can be a HOB so i did that for now. (cant wait to get an SWC)

dang. thats sucks sorry to hear all the troubles.
When i was little i would make these great LEGO cities and every now and then my brother would come in and wreck everything i made. I would get so mad and frustrated after I had just built these cool buildings but then I would just take everything down and start back over again and make it better then before.
sounds like your sump will be better then before.

    for sure! its day 4....

ouch! yeah lucky for me i have a 8x6 room that is solely for this reef tank, the equipment for my 55gal pennisula and my utility sink. so i dont have to worry about room or not being able to rip the entire sump out. so i guess this isnt so bad in comparison :)

    thanks

ha i used to have a similar problem with lego as a child. perhaps some siliconed lego would help keep my baffles up.

thanks for the positive remarks everyone, its helping keep me sane.

hey... I just got here. And I apologize I've been out for quite a few days.
If I remember correctly your bafflers are acrylic, right?

In this case Silicone II would work very well. Mine were glass on glass, and the Silicone II would have been a big mistake. Somebody posted about it giving away and that it says on the tube not to use for glass, etc, etc. Look at mine, and there it was... in the tiny microscopic inscriptions.. "Not for aquarium use" so traded it in for the Silicone I and wow... that thing holds on glass!
I did 3 nice silicone coats on all glass edges though... and I know I did a good job... I'm a home painter... so it's an every day thing for me almost.

I would suggest before you put water back, if you haven't yet, do a last pass with the Silicone II. It's supposed to seal very well on glass/acrylic type of joints.

Good luck. Haven't heard from the sump in a while, so decided to ask ;)

By the way... I'm trying to catch up on your posts.. so don't get irritated if too many questions or posts of mine show up in your threads... just catching up :D

I re did the whole sump with the expensive AGA Sealant. Its very strong. I have both acrylic and glass baffles in my tank.
