For the actinc guys need help

Ok guys im running 2 cheap 250w metal halide bulbs on my 55g i have a 96w ballast left over and two fixtures so my question is i want to add some actinics to my tank i will need to run either one 96w square pin or two 48w if they even make those square pin bulbs what im looking for help in is deciding what i want to run i would like some more color from my coral maybe add some blue actinic but i want maximum growth is any of this possible i was figuring 10000k please fill me in with your suggestions old bulb that was used by some one else that came out is a model 2040 sun paq bulb Paradise Pets: SunPaq Bulbs

 

What color temperature are the MH?

 

not a clue ebay specials im going to upgrade those when i get extra money to buy two of them i would like some advice on those also they are just the single screw in type links for both would be greatly appreciated willing to pay for quality i just got the ell cheapo for the time being coral doing great under em heres what they say on em aquarmckzo 250w se 20000k

 

OK they are 20000K bulbs you won't need actinic with those bulbs so 10000K bulbs would work for your 96W.

 

should i even bother you think i already have way more than enough wattage over a 55g lol im looking to get more color to make coral pop should i just get some diffrent MH bulbs?

 

In that case get an actinic 96W bulb. Tank will be pretty blue but you should get great color. Growth won't be fast though.

 

got any name brand suggestions or link to one by chance or just get the one that was in there?

 

UVL brand is probably the best because they usually have internal reflectors. I think the rest are pretty equal. I think if asked to rate I would say after UVL, Current then Coralife then off brands.
