    I wonder if you can lightly sand the glue points/edges with really fine sandpaper or dremel w/ sand wheel for proper adhesive surface prepping?

    I always prep the edge to try and get rid of rough edges and possibility of channeling. With coated sheets though, sanding the edge won't help, since the entire face of the other sheet won't bond.

    You may want to try mitering the edges so that they are both at a 45* angle, and re-glue them using the untreated edges you just cut.

    I actually did that, using 45 degree cuts to bond the edges into a square and it worked. I used my table saw and angled the blade to 45. I would have to use regular acrylics to make the bottom of the surface viewers, using the coated acrylic for the bottom won't work.
