Im getting ready to put up a 250 gallon marineland and have remodeled my basement but am left with the floor. I dont wanna put my tank down till im happy with flooring. Basement really isnt damp, on an extremely humid day there will be a slight bit of moisture on the floor...the existing tile will squeak with when u walk on it in sneakers. Theres only been 2 days in the last 2-1/2 years ive lived here. Without adding a subfloor and raising the floor an inch inch and a half what can i do to make the flooring down there attractive? Is this a good idea? Anyone have a better idea?

    Thanks

What about the flooring with rubber channels on the underside of the panels? I don't know what they call it, but it is designed to be used in basements where moisture can be an issue. You simply add carpet, or whatever you want over these squares. or you can leave it as is. They snap together, not unlike the rubber mat product you mentioned.

edit..Oh wait, it looks like we are talking about the same product.

LMK what you end up doing. I have thought about this product for my basement. We currently have carpet, but in the even of a lot of rain and both sump pumps were to fail, a little moisture can get on the floor. I don't see all of those issues happening, but I would be planning for the worst in that event.

i would just leave rip up tile until you hit concrete and install drains, that way i could do waterchanges on the floor ;D

I picked up some 2-part epoxy at Lowe's like they use for garage floors. I'm going to use this to paint the concrete slab in the garage that I'm converting to living space. I'll paint the concrete under my stand and in the equipment closet. Everywhere else will get an engineered wood floor. I saw another reefer do this under his stand in his living room and it looked great. I'll post pictures when I'm done but thhis is still a few weeks away.
