He may have freaked because of the size of your system.I f you can talk to him about it maybe he would allow you to keep the dt if you eliminate the large fuge.

My system is nutrient rich as it is... in all honesty getting rid of the sump/fuge would be a death sentence to everything alive in my tank.. Thanks for the suggestion though!

If you can save everything other then the livestock then do it. If you can take the livestock to your favorite LFS and see what you can get for them? They can probably give you credit of some kind and use it to get more things that you might need later when you come back telling us how you have your tank up again with all these new things you got credit on :)

I would hate to lose all the equipment and rather save that and get rid of livestock.

    Good luck!

I really believe you will be back with the tank up and running in time. Just a small bump on the road but focus on school and once you are able get that bad boy up again.

Good luck and focus on school!

Have you looked into your tenant laws? Around here even with a no pets clause a landlord cannot evict you for getting a pet.

you know, I'm not sure about that but I can believe something like that is true. We were landlords for about 5 years and I was blown away at what rights the renter has - really eye opening for me.

so glad to hear the OP was able to get something in place.

Actually not true. Want my advice? Tell him to go pound sand. The only thing he can do is try to evict you and that takes a long time. Tell him that he needs to put any request in writing and that you will take his request to an attorney for an opinion.

He cannot just say "it needs to be gone by tomorrow" and he can't just kick you out. Tenants rights are pretty strong in this country.
