I absolutely love this build !!!

Everything from your aquascaping to the sump layout is perfect IMO.

FYI - 50 PSI feeding your RO/DI is actually on the low side. You really want it 80 PSI+! The higher the pressure, the more efficient the system will be, and the longer your membranes will last.

Other than that, hope things keep turning around for you :)

Just a two week update: i have had my GFO offline for 15 days now, i am trying to feed a bit more often, and i am dosing 12mL of vinegar a day as a carbon source. also i am doing 10 gallon bi-weekly water changes. (25% a month).

So far i have noticed my zoas and LPS opening more, and my monti cap that i thought was 100% dead is growing pretty quick from one spot and showing decent polyp extension.

The cyano has not receded from the rear of the tank.

My cheato is still not growing, mangroves still are fine.

Skimmer is going crazy since dosing vinegar.

Water seems more cloudy, guess its a bacteria thing.

Interesting thread, I'm going through a very similar situation with my tank. Been looking for a good photo period for my super blue aqua illumination sols.

    Week 3 update:

Cyano and sandbed are getting way worse, i dont know if removing the gfo was such a good idea. I think I will re-install it but with a much smaller dose.

All corals seem much happier lately, hoping they stay that way.

I dont have a phosphate test kit, but i have a feeling its creeping up.

My cheato is still not growing though, i would think it would if phosphates were getting higher though : /

Could it be that my sandbed is simply just a nasty detritus / nutrient trap?
Its the only thing in the tank with algae. Looks horrible.

Cool pics. The unknown looks like a fuzzy Millipora, but I am no expert.

My CBS took a solid month before it would really come out in the open during the day. Now it is out all the time.
