Looks pretty good, except the yellow tang. It's amazing, but a 75 gallon is actually too small for them- they need really need a 125g minimum. You can get a tang, but like me, you are pretty much limited to the Bristletooth variety (kole, two spot, whitetail, etc.)

IMO you can get more than that especially if you have a 40g sump. I am using a general rule of 2 gallons per inch of full grown fish for my tank. The only thing you will want to ensure is compatibility and if there are any territorial fish, you want to have plenty of rock work.

Ehhhh, a smaller yellow tang will be fine for years in a 75 with the right tankmates.

...Another 20 years and the Tang Police will have pushed thru legislation for minimum tank sizes for each type of tang, and it'll be an insane amount like 400 gal. I'll bet the house it'll start in Cali! ::)

Thanks! Yep the lower pipe will have a gate valve, the taller emergency pipe will be a straight pipe with nothing. And thanks for the wrasse advice, i didnt know that! I think i will stick with just the six line simply due to the fact that i dont want to over stock. I want the fish load on the low side so i can keep sps happy.

Thanks for the interest. I am on vacation right now and i have never been so excited to go home, i wanna start this project so bad.

Thanks, i think i will keep the fish population low so i can keep sps happy. The only meanie i currently have and will have is my yellow tail damsel. Im hoping all this extra room and rock work will settle him down a notch once he has his own corner of the reef.

I'm assuming you've already looked at the support under the tank for the first floor......(It looks to be a 2 story house from the Photos) Try to keep in mind what will happen in case of a failure on the second floor. As for the tank itself, looks great man!! I cant wait to see it running, that's an awesome spot for it if you ask me.

Yep its a 60's split level house. The tank is going over the garage so if their is some kind of failure everything would end up in the least important part of the house luckily. However this would still seriously suck! And its going across the room from my bed so i can watch it while falling asleep at night.

I got done my sump! Paid $30 for 3 panes of 1/4"glass cut to fit. Got it all siliconed and everything laid out. We just started the stand and I just received 120 lbs of sand from reef rocks. Almost ready to get wet!
