Hey all, been awhile since I have updated! This past weekend i set up everything in the garage and filled it up with the hose to get used to operating my pumps, tuned the herbie overflow, tweaked things, and of course checked for leaks. Thankfully, it passed my inspection and i will be moving everything up to my room tomorrow! So long story short stay tuned for A LOT of pictures, cause i should have an operating reef by sunday. I have 90 gallons of RO water, a bucket of reef crystals, fresh sand, a whole bunch of rock, and kalkwasser ready.

very nice looking build!! Im upgrading my 75 to a 90 later this week and am very anxious just like you to get it started. Look forward to see how it comes together. How are you doing the return just putting a piece of pvc over the top of the tank?

you got it, i will post a picture of the plumbing most likely tomorrow, but yes i just used a 90 degree elbow+ 90 degree "street" elbow to create a low profile, tight fitting "U" tube to go over the top edge. thanks for the interest, be sure to post pics of your 90!

Good luck with the "go live". I'm about 2 or 3 weeks behind you in getting my 75 going.

So I set up almost everything! I used one gallon jugs of distilled water to fill it, now I know my system holds exactly 82 gallons! The salt is mixing in now, and the water is coming up to temperature. This is not all the rock, i have a bit more to add yet that is already cycled. But so far I am pretty happy with my layout.

Use bubble wrap to disperse the water when filling, my water did not even cloud slightly...

Some updated pictures... the reef is 10 days old now! Everything is running great. Just have to make some doors for the cabinet, but the curtain will work for now.
