Forgot all about 3reef!

What about with a stand BUILT for a 40 gallon? Shouldn't it handle the water, and basics? Or should I get a 50 gallon stand?

Also, my grandparents were suggesting I get a bunch of cement blocks (solid) and use those as a stand, would that be safe?

A simple 2x4 stand will hold an M1 tank up, let alone a 50g fish tank. It will also look better when simply painted than the cinder block stand.

 

So cinder blocks will work right? I have a drawer with a couple nets, sponge with a scrubber end, stress relieving salt and liquid, and the box with info on the filter, which I won't need when I get the bigger filter, I am hoping to not spend more than $200 on the stand, filter and hood. I will have to save up more money before I get more fish.

I spent like 15 dollars on 2x4s and screws and used leftover paint.

 

2x4's strong enough? I'll talk to my parents, I still need room for the dogs bed in my room...
