Yes you can just follow their directions. Reduce the dose to whatever amount of water you will be using. If they say (just an example) 1 teaspoon (5 ml.) for 25 gal. of water and you are using say 2 gal. in a bucket reduce to .04 ml. or 1/8 teaspoon. I have used Methylene Blue with success. If you try the Blue be careful it is an almost permanent die if it gets on floor or whatever.

Methlylene blue is more of an antibiotic or antifungal not as effective for parasites, you would be best off using copper/formalin or even acriflavine. I would try a freshwater dip coupled with Cu bath.

    Good luck!

Yes, yes oh great one........but it has worked for me, perhaps it was just the fresh water that did it. I wondered where you have been.......

i think i've said the same thing more than 5 times now in different posts but i want to say it again.. try your best to let the fish fight off the ich itself and not medicating your tank. if you keep your water parameters up to par, and feed your fish a wide variet of diet.. i feed mine brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, omega2 flakes, veggie flakes and squid and it keeps their immune system up and they will fight off the ich themselves.. dosing in a reef tank is especiallly harmful, and can take a toll on some corals.. and setting up a hospital tank and putting fish in there and dosing in those tanks can just cause so much stress to them.. i fthey are still eating, let nature take its course and just feed them a good diet

methylene blue does work somewhat on external parasites, not as effective as malachite green or formalin, but for species that have soars as well and formalin cannot be used, methylene blue is a good substitute.
