Ok, so I took two pieces of live rock out of my tank because they had aiptasia on them and I could spare to have them out...

I had them in a empty bucket (no water)... outside for a few weeks (it's rained / been sunny/ and now cold and windy) you get the idea... completely forgot about them by accident...

Now I want to put them back in my tank...

Do I need to do anything special to clean them or can i just pop them into the tank and will I be ok?

It's a 30 gallon tank at the moment w/roughly 35lbs of live rock in it...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Me, I would just give them a quick rinse, with fresh or saltwater, either should be fine. A pop them back in and let them aquire the nutrifying bacteria again, since they are now dry rock so to speak.

I would brush them down to get as much dead material off of them to keep a cycle to a minimum.

When you say brush them off... is there a particular kind of brush to be using... tooth brush... hair brush ... lol sorry for the stupid question but if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it right...

Cor: Thanks for the input, def will do that...probably throw in the brush approach to be extra safe...

Toothbrush and a good heavy bristled brush. Use the toothbrush on nooks and crannies.
