so i was just checking out my fuge and saw what i thought was a large air bubble. about 3/8 in in diameter. i turned the ball over and it went to the top and did not pop. so i grab it.

it was a hard capsule. i squeezed it a bit and it poped. sorry could get a pic before i poped it.

any ideas on what it could be???

Possibly bubble algae, you will most likely have spread it's spores around you sump and will soon have many more.

That is a form of caulerpa, good for export but you will need to watch closely. Thin it often. If any starts turning white get rid of all the white areas and a large portion of the green.
