I was looking at my tank today, and noticed a good amount of debris had built up on my rock. For some reason, we dont have a turkey baster, but I did find a silicone marinade brush, which worked really well at gently dusting off all the rocks. Hopefully most of the debris will be caught by my filter sock, and I can was it down the sink. At any rate, just wanted to share, hope it might help someone out.

once in a blue moon i might take a turkey baster, but when ever i needed to scrub algae or sand off a rock, i used an old toothbrush :)

That's an interesting idea. I sometimes have to dust off some of the rocks in my sump because there isn't enough flow in one of the chambers. I'll give this a try.
