Update---Well it has been about a month now. I have all but defeated my GHA. I stayed on every sprout with the hot water doses--The fish ate it as I cooked it. I blew off my rocks with a turkey baster twice a week. I added a phosban reactor. I have to say that after this experiment. I would definatly recommend the boiling water shots. I dont think that was the cure. But it definatly will keep it in check while you fight it with the other methods. I also soaked up the water with a paper towel out of the shot glass I thawed my frozen food in. I have stayed diligent and believe I have won the battle. There were times I thought it was winning, but dont give up. I have a pic post going right now, so you can see that it is all but gone. If you have GHA. You can beat it without tearing down the tank. BTW. I like a little of it....looks natural.

A little is not bad, I don't mind a little, but mine never stays little. I just pulled about a cups worth of hair algae off my rocks. Cleared most of it out, but the little sprouts that are impossible to grab a hold of. I might try this tomorrow on the little sprouts. My only thing is, I don't have any fish to eat the stuff, will it fall off the rock once I do this. If so, that would be great because then it would just get sucked into my powerheads and such and those are easy to clean.

some will fall off--some will die and rot away slowly.
